Busy with Yarn

Hi Crafty Friends!

 

I usually share paper projects with you, but I've been playing with lots of yarn lately.  My Mom and Grandma taught me to crochet when I was in elementary school, but over the past couple of years I've really found my passion for it.  I love making hats, beanies, and scarves for my Family and Friends.  I've also found a new love for Amigurumi, and have been making lots fo play food and cute friends for my daughter.

 

Crocheting to me is a way to relax at the end of the day.  And it makes me smile to see my kids wearing and enjoying my hats.  I've also had the pleasure of taking part in a couple of crochet projects to benefit very special young children.

 

Here are a 2 of the projects that I've worked on.

 

Green and White beanies for the "Beanies for Brave Students" project set up by Snappy-Tots to send beanies to the students of Sandy Hook Elementary school.  The original goal was to collect 600 beanies, but she surpased that by collecting over 1500!  My mom and I were able to make a few.

 

 

 

These flowers were made for the 'Bryn's Flowers - Longfellow Elementary Yarn Bomb' project put together for Liz's daughter.  Liz is the owner of Playin Hooky Designs and has some of the neatest beanie patterns. 



Both of these projects were special to me because they had to do with children the same age as my youngest. 

 

I haven't given up playing with paper and stamps, and I plan to continue to share both paper and yarn proects with you.
