DCWV June Stackaholic - I Dig Volleyball

Welcome Crafty Friends!

Today I'd like to share with you my layout for the DCWV June Stackaholic Challenge. The chalenge is to create a layout using one papers from one stack and the following template.


I love using templates, when you are feeling a little low on creativity.

When I saw this template I immediately thought about my daughter's volleyball pictures, and I knew I wanted to use a volleyball in place of the heart.

Here is my layout.

Details:
* DCWV 'The Athletics' stack for the background, title, and '5' (I love the realistic papers, and the papers that look like jersey material
* Plain cardstock from my stash
* 'Sports Mania' Cricut cartridge for the title, volleyball, and border
* Pink By Design 'Samll Banners' stamp set stamped on green cs, cut out and layered on white cs. Stamped the numbers on each banner using white ink.
* Added tiny rhinestones to the banners using the i-Rock (my daughter isn't a blingy kind of girl, but I couldn't resist adding a bit of bling)
* Attached the banners to black twine
* Ribbons (printed, satin, and grossgrain) are from Michael's
* Used foam dimnesional squares to attach the "5", volleyball, banners, and title

I left off the journaling because I want my daughter's input on what to write.

I have to admit that I am a "collector" of DCWV stacks, but I am loving creating layouts using them. This way I am preserving the beautiful papers along with my pictures.

With all the sports that my two older children are involved in, I have a ton of pictures. I love this stack and will be using more of it for their layouts.

I love how this turned out! I can't wait to use the soccer, football, and baseball pages!

Scrappin' Chics Challenge - June Project #3

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome to my 3rd and final project for The Scrappin' Chics Challenge!

The challenge for June is to create a project and incorporate a sun and an inpirational quote.

For my project, I made another card. I can't believe how many different Cricut cartrdiges have a sun on them!

Details:
* White card base is a standard A2 card
* Patterned paper is from DCWV "Citrus" stack (I love the glitter that they add!)
* Colored cardstocks are from my scraps
* Sun is cut at 3 inches using "Create A Critter" cartridge
* Face is stamped using Peachy Keen "Everyday Character Faces", used white gel pen for the eyes and pink chalk for the cheeks (Aren't these faces cute?!)
* Used dimensional foam tape to attach the center of the sun, and added some white stitching to the base layer
* Ribbon is from my stash
* Sentiment is from Pink By Design "Enjoy the Journey" stamp set
* EK Success punch with the edges inked, and attached using dimensional foam tape
* Imaginisce i-Rock used to add turquoise gems to the sentiment

Scrappin' Chics Challenge - June Project #2

For my project, I made a card.



Details:
* 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch card base
* Patterned paper from DCWV "Summer" stack, inked the edges
* Dark blue cardstock from my stash
* Frames cut at 4 inches using "Twinkle Toes" Lite cartridge
* Sun cut at 2 1/2 inches using "Simply Charmed" cartridge
* Semtiment is from Pink By Design "Summer Vacation" set
* "Lemondrop" twine from The Twinery
* Added some stitching using a white gel pen
* Added metallic gems using my i-Rock

Made It Myself Monday - Featured Designer!

Today I am being featured on "Made It Myself Modays" over at "You Had Me At Craft". I'd like to give a huge THANK YOU to Alex for asking me to share with you on her blog.


I am so excited to share with you another love of mine. I love to sew and make accessories for my daughters. My youngest loves to wear hair bows, hair clips, and headbands. And I love to make them for her!

Today I would like to share with you a fabric flower headband that I made for her to wear on the 4th of July.

Guest Desinger for "Getting Cricky"!

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!

I am excited to be a Guest Designer at "Getting Cricky with K Andrew" for their Simply Sunday challenge! This week the challenge is to make a "Vintage" project.

I love creating for challenges as they make you create 'outside your box'. And this weeks challenge sure did that! Vintage seems to be the 'in' thnig right now for scrapbooking and card making, but I haven't made anything like this before. My style tends to be brighter and cutesy.

My teen daughter loves the shabby-chic and vintage style, so she helped me to pick out the elements for this card.

Here is our card:



Details:
* Card dimensions are 5x5 inches
* Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye 'Bella Bella' stack
* Colored cardstock is Recollections
* Bird is cut at 2 inches using 'A Child's Year' cartridge
* Labels cut using Nestabilities 'Labels One'
* Ticket and sentiment stamped using Pink By Design 'Just My Ticket' stamp set
* Tim Holtz 'Tea Dye' Distressed Ink used to ink the edges of papers and cuts to give a 'vintage' look.
* Cream lace and brown satin ribbon are from my stash
* Crocheted a tiny flower and added a pearl for the center

I really stepped outside my comfort zone for this challenge and I really like how it turned out.

Uh oh, now I think I need to add a "vintage" section to my crafty supplies.

I made this card for my 4 year old to give to her Tata and I left the sentiment space blank so that she can write his name there. She is 4 and is learning her letters so I thought she'd like to write his name by herself.

* Patterned papers are from the DCWV 'Guy' stack (love this stack! It's a must-have for masculine cards!)
* Cardstock is Recollections from Michael's
* Recliner cut from the Father's Day limited edition cartridge at 3 inches
* Sentiment punch is from ekSuccess
* i-Rock used to add the silver gems (I think they kinda look like nail heads)
* teal cording

Scrappin' Chics Challenge - Sunsational Project #1

Happy Wednessday Crafty Friends!

And welcome to the Scrappin' Chics Challenge for June. We had a great time last month and had a lot of great projects entered for the challenge.

The challenge for this month is to create a project using a sun and an ispirational quote/saying.

Here is my first project for this challenge.




Details:
* The card base is a scalloped card from the dollar section at Michael's, inked the edges and added stiching.
* Cut a 4 inch circle from white cardstock and stamped with Pink By Design 'Cloudy Days' background stamp with blue ink.
* Cut a 4 1/4 inch circle from
blue cardstock.
* Cut sun using 'Doodlecharms' cartrdige, and layered with a lighter shade of orange.
* Stamped the sentiment using Pink By Design 'Summer Vacation' sentiment stamp set in orange, inked endge and added stitching.
* Attached the sun and sentiment using foam dimensional tape.

The challenge is open all month long and each designer will be sharing 3 projects through out the month.
