Back to the 80's Blog Hop

Welcome Crafty Friends to Emily's "Back to the 80's" Birthday Blog Hop!

Today we are celebrating Emily's BIG day with a flash back to the 80's. This is my favorite decade as I was in my teen years, and have the best memories from then; pegged jeans, slouchy socks, big hair, LA Gear hi-tops, Duran Duran, portable casette players, Rubiks Cube, MC Hammer, Roller Skating, Michael Jackson, etc. It makes me want to get out my year books and reminisce.

You should have come from Dawn's blog, but if you just happened upon my blog and would like to start at the beginning, hop on over to Emily's blog. You won't want to miss out of any of the great projects!

Here is my card that I made:

Supplies used:
Digi image "Lil Fashionette 80's Sookie" by Tickled Pink Stamps
Patterned paper from Recollections
"80s" cut using Don Juan cartridge
Tulle

My blog candy today is the "Doodlecharms" cartridge.

All you need to do is:
"like" Emily's Facebook page, "Create Serendipity" and wish her a Happy Birthday, be a follower of my blog, and leave me a comment letting me know what reminds you of the 80's. Be sure to leave me a way to contact you. Winner will be chosen on the 21st and the blog candy will be sent out after the new year.

For the next stop, hop on over to Jeannie's blog to see what she has created.

I hope you're having a great time and feeling a little nostalgic!

Thanks for stopping by!

I will also be entering this card into Challenge #50 over at Tickled Pink Stamps!

Scary Bells with Simply Betty

Welcome to Day 6 of The Twelve Days of Christmas, Simply Betty style!

Today's theme is Scary Bells, and here is the Christmas Scarol (inspiration) for today:

“Crashing through the night,
With a horrid mangling sound,
Clang each heart with fright,
To terrorize the town.
Bells from belfries ring,
Making spirits rise,
The freaky tones like voices moan throughout the midnight skies!

Oh!
Scary Bells, Scary Bells
Ring your ghostly call
Oh what fun it is to scream and terrorize us all. Ah!

Scary bells, scary bells,
With your manic sound,
When you toll the spirits roll from six feet underground!

A day or two ago,
I thought I’d take a ride,
To see the mansion sights
To see what was in side,
My horse began to rear,
The scary bells did clang
I fell into an open grave to cheer myself I sang…

Scary Bells, Scary Bells
Ring your ghostly call
Oh what fun it is to scream and terrorize us all. Ah!

Scary bells, scary bells,
With your manic sound,
When you toll, the spirits roll from six feet underground!"

And the challenge is to use bells.

Here is my card:

Supplies:
* SBS "Merry Betty", colored with markers
* Bells cut from "Joys of the Season" cartridge
* Sentiment from the Pink By Design "Christmas Wishes" set
* Ribbon
* MS large spider punch

Who would've thought you could combine Halloween and Christmas papers to make cute cards?!

'Twas the Night(mare) Before Christmas

Welcome to day 5 of the Simply B Stamps' Twelve Days of Christmas!

Here is our inspriation for today:

"T’was the Nightmare Before Christmas and all through the house,
not a creature was peaceful, not even a mouse.

The stockings all hung by the chimney with care,
When opened that morning would cause such a scare!
The children nestled and all snug in their beds
Would have nightmares of monsters and Skeleton Heads!"

Here is my cute, but creepy card:

Supplies used:
* SBS "Season's Greetings Lola" digi, colored with Copics
* Spellbinders "Labels Ten"
* PBD "Christmas Wishes" set - sentiment was curved on the block before inking
* PBD crinkle ribbon
* Ghost button
