Scrappy Jak Card of the Month cards

Welcome back!

These are some cards that I made with the first Scrappy Jak Card of the Month kit. It's easy and free to join. Just follow "Scrappy Jak" on Facebook and under the Discussions tab you can find all the information.

For this month, she mailed everyone the bascis for 3 cards. All she asks is that you use some of each thing she provides for each card. You can add anything extra that you'd like. And at the end of the month, please post pictures of your cards on her FaceBook page. Super simple!

Spooky Bottle Swap

Abbie at Cricut Me That hosted a Spooky Bottle Swap. She had us answer a few questions about what we like about Halloween/Thanksgiving and what we'd like to receive. She then partnered us up and sent out emails with each other's answers.

Here is what I received from my partner Micia.

Micia managed to fit quite a bit of goodies in a small bottle! There was glitter, bling, stickers, glitter chipboard letters, fall chipboard pieces, white gel pen, ribbons, brads, and the cutest pink mini tape runners! I know I'll be using all of this on either cards or layouts.

Here is a picture of my bottle that I am sending Micia. I used a 1 liter bottle because I wanted something slightly larger so that some of the contents wouldn't get bent. I hope you enjoy it! I don't want to show too much, because I don't want to spoil the suprise!

This was a really fun swap. I had a lot of fun shopping for little goodies to send. And the best part is that I have a new blog friend! Micia's blog is www.yellowbirdcreation.blogspot.com

Happy Birthday to my Dad!

Happy Birthday Dad!!! I hope you're enjoying your birthday today!

Here's is a card that I made for my Dad's birthday. He loves eveything VW. Growing up we had a 1971 two-toned (orange and white) VW bus. I have lots of memories of vacations and camping in our bus! He also had a Baja Bug and a Converter. We loved them so much that all of us kids' first cars were VW bugs!!!

I couldn't decide what kind of card to make for my Dad. While flipping through the Disney Cars booklet, I came accross Fillmore, the VW Bus!


Details:
The base card is 5 x 7 inches.
Disney Cars cartridge - Fillmore cut at 4 inches
Cardstock - Michael's and scraps
Glossy accents on the windows and head lights to look like glass
Black opaque Enamel Accents on the tires
Party and Peace sign are buttons
There are a lot more cut-out details on the side of the bus, but the picture in the booklet is som small that it was hard for me to tell what went where! I think that a lot of the Disney cut-outs are meant to be cut at 5 inches or larger due to the detail of the intricut cuts.

Guest Designer for Pink By Design

I was so suprised and honored when Sarah from PinkCricut (www.pinkcricut.com) asked me if I would like to be featured as a guest designer on her blog! Of course I said yes!

Sarah has just recently come out with her own stamp sets called Pink By Design (www.pinkbydesign.com) and they are really cute! I've been having lots of fun matching up the sayings with Cricut cuts.

Warning: This post may be a bit long. When Sarah asked me to make a card, I got a bit carried away and made 3!

Here are the cards that I made. I only have 3 of the sets, so I made one card with each of the sets that I have.

This first one is a tri-fold card. This is also the first time that I've used my Design Studio. I can't afford a Gypsy right now, so I bought Design Studio to be able to try to weld and hide. While making this card, I learned that it's inportant of lay out all the little squares before gluing them down. There is not onyl the pattern while the card is open, but also while it is closed. I was really picky about which papers sat next to each other.

This next card is a standard A2 size card. I love her new set 'Shopaholic'! While reading the sentiments, I had so many card ideas running through my head. Here is what I decided on.

And lastly, I made this card with the new "Go Green" set. This set has so many cute animal sentiments!

Today is my older brother's birthday. (I'm the only girl, and the middle child between two brothers!) I just got the Robotz cartridge and have been wanting to make a card using it. My 3 year old wanted to help so I gave her the booklet and she chose this Robot.

Birthday Card and Paint Can

I can't believe my baby is 15! Well, she's not a baby anymore, but she is my first born and will always be "my baby".

She is a Sophomore in high school, plays club soccer, and plays volleyball, soccer, and track for the high school. Not only is she smart and athletic, but she has the crafty gene too! She doesn't mind going to Michael's with me when she has some spare time.

When her friends have a birthday, she makes them personalized paint cans or take-out boxes filled with baked goods. This is what inspired me to make a paint can for her. I used her favorite colors (lime green and orange) and added a couple of purses (her big weakness...hand bags).

I've been working on these off and on all week (someone is "snoopy" so I've had to sneak and try to keep it hidden). I think I used everything excepts buttons on these! The card I will be entering the "Throwback Thursday" challenge with Emma at My Creative Time. Her challenge is to use any "older" cartirdge we have. I knew I wanted to make an easel card, and once Emma announced her challenge, I chose to use the Sweet Treats cartridge.

Ladybug Hugs - September Card Exchange

I am part of a Cricut card exchange on Facebook. I've been taking part for the last 3 months and I really enjoy receiving "fun mail". Anything other than bills!

More Halloween Cards

Creating projects for Halloween has helped to bring back my creative spark. Halloween is a big deal at our house. We decorate inside and out. With all the Halloween papers and cartridges, these were fun to make.

Halloween Cards and Rubber Stamps

Hello again!

I was feeling in the mood to stamp using some of my rubber stamps. I started making cards (years and years ago) using the wood mounted rubber stamps. But, since the cricut and clear stamps, they have been a bit neglected.

I ordered Simply Charmed (from Scrapbookpal.com) on Friday and it was in my mailbox on Monday! Now how's that for speedy delivery! Thank you Emma (My Creative Time) for the great tip!
