Adventures in Hollywood! (with pics)

Welcome back!

I'm no longer feeling under the weather and have been able to get back into my craft room. (Yay!) So I'm sorry if I haven't posted lately.

Anyways...

My daughters and I drove the short drive (2+ hours) to Hollwood to meet up with Sarah (PinkCricut) and Emma (My Creative Time) and some other scrappers from So Cal. Sarah and Emma are in town for CHA and they organized a little get together for brunch. I had a great time meeting some sweet and creative women whose blogs I've been following!

Afterwards my daughters and I decided to drive around Hollywood and do some sight seeing. I can't believe that I was born in SD and have lived here my whole life, yet I've never played tourist in Hollywood!

We drove through the Hollywood Hills looking at some incredible homes (mansions actually) and then we drove up to the Griffith Observatory. My daughter informed me that this is where they filmed a scene for Charlie's Angels the movie. The drive up was gorgeous and the views from atop the hill are amazing!

And no trip to Hollywood would be complete without driving up to see the Hollywood sign. The roads were narrow and winding (I can't believe people actually want to live there. And pay lots of money for homes with barely any property!)

We had a great time on our adventure. Now I'm off to make something crafty!

New Year's Cards

Welcome back!

I wanted to share a few New Year's cards that I made. While visiting my parent's during the Holidays, we spent some time crafting. We usually plan to make at least one project and I bring over my scrappin' supplies. But this trip I needed the extra room for all the presents, so the only scrappin stuf I took was a few newer cartridges that my Mom doesn't have yet. I figured since my mom has a Cricut and cartidges (and tons of paper!), I'd play around with her stuff. I do have to admit, I felt left out with my Mom and SIL playing with their new Cricuts. (Santa also brought me an Expression this year, but it was left behind.)

Here are some cards that I made using the Celebrate With Flourish Lite cartridge.

I used blue Stickles to add to the hat and flourishes

Happy 2011! My Christmas and my goals for the year.

Happy 2011 Everyone!

I can't believe that 2010 is already behind us! It went by waay too fast!

Have you made (and kept) any resolutions? My goals for this year is to keep up with my crafting. I reconnected with my love of crafting while out of work and I want to find a balance between my kids, working and crafting. I also would like to complete at least 1 scrappin' page (or 2 page layout) each week, and share with everyone on my blog.

I'm sorry I've neglected my blog, but the Holidays were pretty busy with working, Christmas shopping, and getting ready to travel to my parents for Christmas. This year was a special year because both of my brothers and their families also traveled to my parents and we were able to hang out and celebrate together! It isn't often that we are all together in the same place at the same time.

I've successfully converted all of my family to Cricuters! Here we (I'm taking the picture) are playing and creating! We converted the formal dining room into a craft room during our visit. After seeing what all the excitment was about (and playing around with the Cricut), my older brother and his wife decided to get themselves a teal Expression. The Cricuts were chirping late into the night!
