Sweet Stamp Shop Grand Re-Opening Celebration

Hello Crafty Friends!

Welcome to the Sweet Stamp Shop's Grand Re-Opening!

I am so excited to be one of the designers helping them celebrate today!

This card I made using a sentiment from the "Sail Away Sayings" stamp set.  The background is fabric!  I ironed it on to some fusible webbing before cutting to size, and then lightly ironed it on to the cardstock.

Sweet Stamp Shop is celebrating all month long so be sure to be a fan of their Facebook page.  You aren't going to want to miss a thing!

And...

You are going to want to make sure you stop by and comment/follow/like all the designer's links today because one of us will be giving away a $25 gift card to the store!

Is it me?

Maybe ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

And Welcome to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Get Cookin' Blog Hop!

If you came here from Gloria's blog, you are in the right place.  If you just stumbled upon my blog today and would like to start from the beginning, please visit the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons blog.

The theme for today's hop is "Get Cookin'", and we're sharing projects that have to do with cooking and food using Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons files.

For my project I made a couple of kitchen towels.  Okay, I bought the towels, but I embellished them using fabric and a couple of PPPR cut files.

Whether you're cooking or baking you can always use some cute kitchen towels.  And if you're like me, then you like to have cute themed towels that get changed out regularly.

If you're a regular follower of my blog, you might have noticed that I have been sharing a few fabric related posts lately.  I am in love with using my Silhouette Cameo and PPPR cutting files to create cute fabric appliques.

Materials:

 store bought towels
fabric pieces
Heat N Bond
and your favorite PPPR cutting files (I find it easiest to use simple shapes.)
For these, I used cuts from the "Hoppy Easter" cutting files.

The blog candy for this hop is a $15 GC to the PPPR store.
For a chance to win, you must be a follower of each blog and leave a comment on each blog. For extra chances, you can also "LIKE" Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons on Facebook and/or sign up for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Newsletter.

Fabric Shamrocks

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today is my day to share over at the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons blog, and I am sharing a fabric project using the "Shamrock Faces" cutting files.

I love using svg files to create and cut out fabric appliques for sewing and quilting projects.  But you can also use fabric on paper projects as well.

Here is a fabric zippered pouch and a matching card that I made using the same fabric applique.

Here is the zippered pouch:

 And here is the card:

Details:
PPPR "Shamrock Faces" cutting files
(I used only the basic shamrock shape)
cardstock for the card
fabric with fusible backing ironed on
(You will want to have the paper backing still on one side.  This is what will "stick" to your cutting mat.)
Silhouette Fabric Cutting Blade
Pretty Cute Stamps "Lucky" stamp set

Here are a few more pictures of the process:

PPPR Fabric Flowers

Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends!

Did you have a great Holiday weekend?  We spent a lot of time indoors due to my son breaking his hand during his football game Friday night.  Yep, we spent Friday night in the ER, and then all weekend keeping busy inside.  At least I was able to get some chores and crafty projects worked on.

One of those projects is this cute layered fabric flower that I've seen on Pintrest and Instagram.  My first thought was, I'm sure I can do that with my Cameo :)

Today is my day to share over at the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons blog and I am sharing with you how to make this flower using one of the PPPR cut files.

Supplies:
PPPR "Flower Assortment Cutting File", I used the petal layers from "Flower 6"
thick cardstock
fabric scraps
fusible interfacing
fabric marker (disappears with water)
fabric scissors
pinking shears
button
twine/ribbon

I used my Cameo to cut the petal layers at about 4" and 3" across.  I also cut a small circle at about 1 1/4" diameter.  I cut them from heavy cardstock so they would hold up to me using them multiple times.

Make your layers of fabric and interfacing and then trace the petals using a fabric marker.

Sew along the marker lines.

Cut out each piece just outside the stitching.

Use a damp cloth to wet the marker lines and they will disappear :)

You can use just about any flower shape and size, and even add more layers.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun making flowers!

Disney Pixar Blog Hop

Welcome to the Disney Pixar Blog Hop!

If you love Disney Pixar and crafting, you came to the right place!  We have an entire month of fun planned for you, with a new group of crafting bloggers every Saturday in June.

If you came here from Shawn's blog, then you are in the right place.  If you just happened upon this Blog Hop, make sure to head over to Shawn's blog so that you see the full hop from the very beginning.  If you missed the first two weekends, you can still go back and see all of those projects too.  Just click HERE to see the projects from the first weekend, and click HERE to see the projects from the second weekend.

For my project I made a simple fabric lanyard.  The last time I took my kids to Disneyland, my oldest and I did some pin trading.  It was a lot of fun in between going on rides and watching shows and parades.

We would like to go back to Disneyland and thought it would be fun if I could make lanyards for each of us.  We each have a favorite character (or two), so I could customize them.

I found this very simple video tutorial and made a Minnie Mouse inspired one.

Details:
4" x 40" strip of fabric
metal D ring or round key ring
You can find the tutorial that I used here.

You could even make these for work or conventions, or even just to hold your keys while you're running around with your kids.  I'm even going to shorten it quit a bit and make a key fob.  And these could be made out of any fabric so the possibilities are endless!

Before you go, make sure to sign up to win some AMAZING PRIZES from our sponsors!  Our sponsors for this hop include

(winners must live in the Continental United States due to shipping)

Make sure to mark your calendar for MORE projects next Saturday!  You can join the Facebook Event page by clicking HERE.  Now it's time for you to head over to Stephanie's blog.

Here is the full line up in case you get lost along the way

Vaction Blog Hop with PPPR

Happy Saturday Crafty Friends!

School is out and summer is here, and that means vacations!  Today the Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons design team is having a Travel themed blog hop.

If you came here from Jeanne's blog, you are in the right place.  If you just stumbled upon this post and would like to start from the beginning, please visit Lisa's blog.

We are sharing "Vacation" themed projects with you today.

For my project today I did something a little different.  Instead of paper, I created with fabric!

I've been wanting to try cutting fabric with my Cameo, but have been hesitant.  I have no idea why, because it was just as easy as cutting paper!

Here is my project, a passport holder.

the inside, the passport slips under the ends

Here is the iron on adhesive I found at Joann's.

Details:
I used a couple of layers of the airplane from the "Are We There Yet" cutting files. I just made sure to shrink the size to fit the front of my project.
The passport cover pattern is from Sew Mama Sew, here.
fabrics are from my stash (yes, I have a fabric stash too) :)
fabric blade for the Cameo
Heat n Bond iron on adhesive (you don't need the Silhouette brand)
fabric dimensional paints

Cutting fabric isn't any harder than cutting paper.  First you'll want to iron your fabric to one side of the adhesive, and then remove the paper backing.  Now you can stick your fabric to the cutting mat just as you would paper.

I'm not sure if you have to have the "fabric" blade, but I like to have a separate one, just like having separate scissors.

Blog Candy :)

For a chance to win, you must be a follower of each blog and leave a comment on each blog. For extra chances, you can also "LIKE" Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons on Facebook (link to https://www.facebook.com/PrettyPaperPrettyRibbons21) and/or sign up for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Newsletter (link tohttp://www.prettypapergraphics.com/pages/Newsletter.htm).
