Momo's Tuesday Challenge and Throwback Thursday #8

Welcome back! I haven't posted anything in quite a bit. I've been busy being unemployed and hanging out with kids for the summer. I haven't done any challenges lately, and I miss them! But I have been busy making some cards and layouts, I've just been neglecting to post any of them here (I will post some later).

This is a Birthday card that I made for 2 challenges. The first one is Momo's Tuesday Challenge over at "Made By Momo". It's called "Girly Affair" and the challenge is to make something girly.

The second one is Emma's Throwback Thursday #8 over at "My Creative Time". This week's challenge was to use the "Celebration" cartridge or any older cartridge and make something with a "Birthday" theme. I don't have that cartridge so I used "Sweet Treats".

What's more "Girly" than a Birthday cake with pink frosting and sparkly butterflies?

From "Sweet Treats", I cut the cake stand at 1 1/2" out of silver cardstock and the 3 layer cake (p. 39) at 3" out of white cardstock. I added glitter to the frosting layers and the butterflies. I used the "Create A Critter", and cut the butterflies (p.) at 1/2" from two shades of pink cardstock. The cake is raised using foam dimensionals, and the butterflies are folded and then added with glue dots (rolled between fingers first) to the cake. I like the added dimension that this gives it. The background paper is from DCWV and the ribbon is from Michael's.

I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by. I'll be posting another card and some layouts soon.
